How to organize your car documents

Separate records by vehicle and type: registration, insurance, technical inspection, tax and invoices. For each, note its source, date and expiry only where applicable. This is an organization checklist, not an official list of mandatory documents for every situation.

This guide explains procedures and regulations in Albania. For another country, independently check the requirements of its authorities.

How it works

  1. Add your vehicle

Add the car you use today. Keep each vehicle’s information separate.

  2. Confirm the date

Copy the deadline from the document or official source, then check the reminder and notification preferences.

  3. Review and update

After a renewal or service, save the new record. Check that its deadline and cost belong to the right vehicle.

Practical example

Fictional example: vehicle A, sample TPL policy, source: original policy, recorded expiry: 12 April 2027. Check the date on your actual policy. For a deadline without a file, create a manual reminder. After renewal, update the date and check the linked reminder.

Documents and deadlines

Keep a separate record for each document: its vehicle, type, source and actual dates. Check the vehicle before uploading and retain the original. For a deadline without a file, use a manual reminder.

Service and cost history

Record the work or payment with its vehicle, date, known mileage, amount and currency. Check linked expenses before adding the same invoice again. Compare matching periods and distinguish unknown cost from zero.
